And then I got so tangled up in setup, and in the question of how Robert and Chris's relationship would differ in this AU, and in the end I toned down the intended smut because it no longer felt fitting to go into heavy detail, so my smut remains tragically unpractised.
It was an interesting challenge to write Chris as a cis woman, and I hope the result works for you! I think Robert would treat a female Chris much the same as he treats Chris in canon, but, aswolfy_writing commented, Chris would probably interpret Robert's behaviour differently.
This is technically set after Adaptability, my Robert/Chris/Robert fic in which people are similarly casual about the existence of other universes, but you can just read this fic on its own; it should make sense even if you haven't read its predecessor!
