Solving It (Mobile Game)

I love h/c with all my soul, so all my prompts are heavy on the h/c. That said - plot or no plot, casefic, fluff fic, smut or no smut - wherever you'd like to take things, I'm game! If you feel inclined toward higher ratings, I adore heavy petting and smut with feelings - when it comes to sensuality, I love emphasis on sensation and emotion.

I'm also very open to unconventional narrative styles or framing devices, such as outsider POV, outsider POV contrasted with canon characters' POV, epistolary fic, framing devices such as mission reports, medical reports, audio transcripts/debrief transcripts, text messages or post-its between characters, news articles, official documentation, and similar!

General likes:
General likes:
• Character studies, exploration of canon character dynamics, fallout of canon trauma
• Missing scenes, slice-of-life, etc - exploring canon character dynamics/canon traits of known characters
• Touch starvation
• Deep friendships, friends-to-lovers, earned trust between characters who know each other closely and fondly, casual intimacy and caretaking, clothes sharing
• Bonding over shared trauma
• PTSD, illness messing with a character's grip on reality, combat/mission injuries, scars, old injuries acting up, touch starvation, sensory deprivation / sensory overload, characters not believing they deserve comfort or being surprised to receive comfort
• Eventually requited pining
• Worldbuilding and atmosphere
• Outsider POV, especially when contrasted with our characters' POV
• Mission aftermaths
• Cars or planes, cars or planes as refuge or comfort spaces, h/c and caretaking in cars, intimacy and/or making out in cars
• Smut with Feelings (I don't really need to know what body parts are going where, I just love to know how it feels, in the sensory way especially but also the emotional way)
• Pain, bittersweetness, sadness, exploring the darker side and implications of canon is great, but I really need some happiness/comfort and hope along with it!

Smut likes:
D/s overtones (wherever mentioned; I generally give an indication of what direction). Femdom. Service subs. Subs With Issues. Doms who are all about looking after their subs and being gentle with them. Praise kink. Hands, fingers, touch; touch starvation. Finger-sucking. Aftercare. Tenderness, especially if the person receiving it isn't expecting it, isn't used to it, and it breaks them just a little.
Marking, intentional or no - bruising with lips or teeth; hiding the bruises under clothing. Suit kink. Fabric kink in general (denim, silk, cotton, plush, what have you - give me all the pleasant textures!). Wrists bound or held down. Honour bondage. Careful sex / making out when one partner is hurt or ill and feverish (fever sex is, uh, a Thing of mine). Or rough, desperate, life-affirming sex / making out.

General DNWs:
• Mundane/depowered/setting change AUs
• Bleak, hopeless endings (as long as there's hope, bittersweet endings are fine!)
• Unrequested crossovers and fusions
• Any mention of coronavirus or quarantine/lockdown situations (trapped together is fine and encouraged though!)
• Death of requested characters (even if they died in canon)
• Non-canonical death of non-requested characters
• Terminal illness
• Permanent injury (exceptions: Gibbs' chronic knee issue after his injury in Kuwait, John Anderton being permanently fucked up in some way after Minority Report canon)
• Gastrointestinal illness (nausea/vomiting is okay but not as a focus of the work, and not as a result of GI discomfort - so character getting nauseous or throwing up from a migraine or just severe pain in general, yes; character getting nauseous or throwing up as a result of a severe anxiety attack or PTSD episode, yes; character suffering anything related to food poisoning or GI bugs or overeating and similar, no)
• Marijuana use or mention of it in any capacity (other intoxicants a-okay)
• Infidelity (for Red October, I'd like Jack and Cathy to be amiable exes who get along well and happily co-parent Sally while not together)
• Internalized homophobia
• Hunt for Red October book canon and/or tone (please stick with the movie canon and vibe)
• for The Sting, innocent/vulnerable targets for cons (I prefer the target to actively deserve what they're getting)
• for Solving It, any reference to the Professor or the puzzles involving him

Smut DNWs:
• Noncon or dubcon, except where noted
• humiliation as a kink, except where noted
• pain play, except where noted
• gags of any kind (exception: hand over mouth okay but only if it triggers/upsets a character and is dealt with as trauma rather than as sexy)
• anal, dirty talk, spanking, ageplay, scat, watersports, rimming, emeto, A/B/O, d/s-verse, mommy/daddy kink, maledom/femsub

The Hunt for Red October (1990)
Characters: Jack Ryan, Marko Ramius, Bart Mancuso, Jim Greer
Ships: any and all including the ot4
DNW Red October book canon, and I request you to please not go for a tone match with the book! I'm here for both the events of/after the film, and the warm/hopeful/bittersweet-but-with-more-sweet vibe of the film. I do not want bleakness or hopelessness here; I would love something warm with lots of mutual caretaking. H/c focused on either Jack or Bart would be great. I love any and all pairings/ot3-or-mores featuring these four characters - Jack/Marko, Bart/Marko, Jack/Bart, Jack/Bart/Marko, and Jack/Bart/Marko/Greer are all fantastic, as is any combination I might not have mentioned.

I love this version of Jack Ryan so much! I love that he's a strategic expert and knows which hunches to play, but he's not a field agent and knows exactly Fuck All about field operations! I love every single character dynamic he has, especially the deeply promising ones he has with Ramius and Mancuso, and the warm established one he has with Greer. I also love his backstory, his lingering PTSD and likely chronic pain from the spinal injury that ended his career as a Marine, and how he ploughs on regardless of how Very Much He Does Not Want To Be Ploughing On.

I really love the warmth of everything about this film - how deeply idealistic Jack and Ramius are, how Jack is an experienced analyst who knows a lot about strategy and history but absolutely nothing about operations (but still knows he has to try to get Ramius in alive), how Ramius makes sure to gain the trust of his officers about the terrible risk he's taking in defecting, how Mancuso's whole crew clearly loves and trusts him and admires him while he is so protective of them in return - indeed, how committed to duty Mancuso is, but how ready and willing to step up when Jack proves his orders wrong. I also love how Greer is completely ride or die for Jack's hunch, even if he is amused by Jack's awkwardness in front of the admirals and politicians at the briefing - and how warm and affectionate he is towards Jack, pulling him into his arms and surrounding him with love.

I love h/c for all my fandoms, but I particularly love it for this one. Jack and/or Mancuso as the hurt character would be great, with any/all of the others doing the looking after. I love the warmth of this film, and would love that warm atmosphere to carry over into fic. 💛 (If you'd like some more ideas to bounce off of, here's my Hurt/Comfort Ex writeup on Jack; here's the one for Bart.)

Prompts if you want em!

• Cold and damp are not great for old injuries and chronic pain, and Jack's had a rough few days. When the action is over and Jack stays on the Red October (and later at a CIA safe house) as Ramius' security detail/fanboy in residence, he tries his best to hide how much he's hurting, but Ramius (and perhaps Mancuso, too) sees right through him, and takes care of him as best he can. Perhaps extending all the way back to CIA headquarters, with Greer already knowing the details of Jack's injury and how it plays up and affects him from time to time, and knowing exactly how to coax him into getting looked after (and knowing how to make Bart and Marko comfortable and warm even in an often cold and clinical building, too).

• I'd love to see Mancuso's inner life, since we know less about him than the other two. What do Mancuso's quarters aboard the Dallas look like? What books does he have there, what photographs or paintings? (Are there eventually photos of him with Jack and/or Ramius? Does he take some of their clothes with him aboard, to sleep in?)

• Jack gets shot or otherwise badly hurt. Jack is not a field agent, was not on a field mission when he sustained the injury, and does not react to said injury like a field agent would. There's a great deal of medical trauma and pain, and Greer and/or Mancuso and/or Ramius are Absolutely Furious about it.

• Mancuso gets badly hurt or falls ill while on deployment. Jack and/or Ramius and/or Greer comfort him over the phone or via messages through the crew of the Dallas (Watson! Jonesy!) while he's laid up, or camp out by his bed if things get bad enough that he has to be taken to a hospital on shore, and make an enormous fuss of him and spoil him thoroughly when he gets home.

• Any or all of them making out with so, so much affection and warmth, whether it's at Jack's home in Maine or at Greer's place or Marko's new one under his new identity, while Bart is home on shore leave. I love the idea of Bart very gently giving orders, especially to Jack, and I really love the idea of Jack and Bart being spoiled and loved on by both their Bears.

Sneakers (1992)
Characters: Martin Bishop, Bernard Abbott
Ships: Martin/Bernard

Here for Martin getting some looking after; he is canonically pretty fucking injured and doesn't seem to want to bother anyone with it, and his friends are all (justifiably) wrapped up in their own happy endings, and while they like him fine, I don't think they'd notice enough to stick around. Abbott, on the other hand, as a stranger looking in, may see something about him that they don't, and find himself growing unwillingly concerned for the scrappy not-so-young idiot who bested him.

Prompts if you want em!

• Martin got hit in the head to unconsciousness twice, drifted in and out in a car boot for hours, then got choked out and chucked out of a moving car, and yet when he wandered back to Liz's door he found himself comforting her instead of seeking comfort - perhaps because he didn't want to worry her, perhaps because he feels awkward asking for anything when she's his ex and is already helping him so much, perhaps just because he's not comfortable letting anyone see him vulnerable at all. (The team like him and think he's cool, but he's technically their employer, and he clearly keeps himself to himself a lot - they were all pretty stunned to learn anything about his past, let alone the whole Cosmo Situation.) To Abbott, meanwhile, he's a peer and an adversary - Abbott looks at him and sees an annoying idealist who truly understands how the world works and chooses to try to do good anyway, but he also sees how tiring that is and how Martin looks out for his team above all else. I think that of all the characters in the film, it's Abbott who could truly understand why Martin looks after everyone while keeping them at arm's length from ever seeing him less than perfectly fine, and I think he'd notice Martin was hurt and start to be concerned.

• I'd love to see them getting to know each other, starting to trust each other. Martin doesn't trust the government, but neither does Abbott even though he works within it; it's the nature of the job. Abbott likes how Martin gets super excited about security, investigation, computers and the like. Martin, now that his record is cleared and he doesn't have to worry about looking over his shoulder any more, finds Abbott is surprisingly warm and surprisingly good at getting past his defensive walls when he needs some looking after. Them being surprised to fall in love with each other, but taking it in stride. Abbott giving Martin a sense of security, of having a home base, that he's never really had before and takes a bit of coming to terms with. Hell, maybe it gives the team a bit more confidence in themselves, knowing there's an NSA agent in their corner - or maybe Abbott quits the agency to come work with them or start his own private investigation firm or something.

• Martin and Abbott doing silly word games or crossword puzzles together and bringing each other breakfast, just generally getting to be warm together. The team seeing a new, uncomplicatedly happy side of Martin they never have before - he's always been a ray of sunshine but there's always been an edge to it, and now it's slowly disappeared.

The Sting
Characters: Henry Gondorff, Johnny Hooker
Ships: Henry/Johnny

I love these smug idiots and how protective they are of each other! I feel like they would immediately do anything for each other, but are still very much tiptoeing around acknowledging that even to themselves, and that makes for a fascinating dynamic full of devoted mutual pining that neither is quite sure how to get around - and some hurt/comfort might just be the way they finally do it.
DNW innocent/vulnerable targets, please! In tune with canon, I would prefer for the target of any con they pull to be someone who deserves it.

Prompts if you want em!

• Henry out of his element in looking after Johnny, and Johnny himself out of his element in being injured or unwell - either it's an injury or illness he's never dealt with before (pneumonia? broken limb? first ever migraine?) or it's severe enough to disorient and scare him, or both

• Henry just absolutely losing his mind trying to figure out how to make Johnny more comfortable/less in pain/just make whatever he's suffering more bearable - getting him something soft to wear, extra blankets or scarves, cool cloths, filling up the bathroom with steam, whatever occurs to him

• Johnny being super unfamiliar with being cared for, complaining that Henry is fussing too much and making a big deal out of nothing, until he's feeling too bad to even complain and finally has to acknowledge it's nice to be treated nice

• Trains! I'd love to see some caretaking on trains, whether they're undercover on a fancy one or escaping on a less fancy one, or whatever other Train Premise you desire. (Cars also good, but trains lend themselves to h/c set over longer journeys without outside help, while I feel like cars are more immediate, especially in the canon time period, which is why I'm pointing out the Trains)

• Johnny letting slip how wonderful he thinks Henry is while he's out of it with pain or fever; Henry wondering if he'll even remember he said that when he feels better (he does)

• Alternatively, Henry letting something slip when Johnny is out of it, then hoping he won't remember (he does)

• Alternatively alternatively, Johnny confessing how much he likes Henry while he's really sick or hurt and Henry thinks he's out of it, but Johnny is completely in possession of his senses (just suffering) and sticks to his guns, gently coaxing Henry into accepting a kiss

• Johnny showing up injured or sick and collapsing on Henry's doorstep because he doesn't know where else to go; Henry being a disaster but pulling it together to look after Johnny despite being out of his depth and perhaps even afraid (maybe with some help and reassurance from Billie)

• Henry wanting to be gentle with Johnny in bed while Johnny is a bit of a brat and can't or won't handle gentleness (I would love to see him come around to accepting gentleness from Henry, even if Henry has to get stern in order to achieve it)

• Johnny kinda getting off on being injured/in pain until it's very suddenly all too much for him and he's in unfamiliar, disorienting territory of Actually Feeling Bad

• Johnny wanting to be tied/held down roughly, but it ends up hurting him too much and Henry compromises by tying/holding him lightly instead, carefully within how much he can handle

• Generally them being super protective of each other and having feelings they can't figure out how to express, until they do

Solving It (Mobile Game)
Characters: Agent, Dr SL, Kitty the Assistant
Ships: Agent/Dr SL

I utterly adore Dr SL and her silly inventions that don't work. I love her sweet tooth and the fact that half the time she commissions the player (the Agent) it's to just bring her the cake or ice cream soda she lost, and the other half to help someone else out or join in silly shenanigans with her. I think she's doing it just to see more of the Agent, so she can eventually kiss her.
DNW any of the weird, vaguely racist Indiana Jones shit the Professor gets up to, please. I'm not interested in his character or the missions related to him.

Prompts if you want em!

• Dr SL is trying very hard to flirt with the Agent, but the Agent is an oblivious lesbian who just won't take the hint. How many ice cream sundae dates can she ask her on, in increasingly convoluted ways, before she finally gets it?

• The Agent canonically sees Dr SL's home for the first time during the game. How long have they known each other? How did they meet? How long have they been mutually pining and thinking about kissing each other?

• Oh no, Dr SL invented another device that's causing universe-ending shenanigans! She says the solution is...to kiss her??? Gee whiz!

Thank you for creating for me! I hope you have a great time.
