Dear Yuletide Writer - 2018

First of all, thank you for being awesome, 'cause I know you're awesome! ♥
You're in a fandom I'm in, so I'm sure I'll enjoy whatever you come up with! I do have...a ton of thoughts about Everything, as per my usual, so I'm just going to wordspill a little bit here. First, the very basics:
Things I adore in fic: Hurt/comfort (usually in roughly equal proportion), character studies, canon-compliant angst, slice-of-life fic, friendship and soft affection. genuinely, throw any classic h/c scenario at me and I will be a happy, happy clam.
Things I'm not keen on in fic: Mundane/depowered AUs (coffee shop etc - I prefer fic to mostly stick with canon), unrealistic medical details, gastrointestinal illness, deathfic, noncon, violent or aggressive homophobia, Explicit-rated stuff (I'm a-okay with Mature though!)
(also, this is not in any way obligatory, but in case you'd like some random h/c ideas, i have a hurt/comfort tag on tumblr that's full of 'em!)
While I'm rambling, here are some fandom-specific thoughts - please feel free to pick, choose, mix, match, play with any, all or even none of them. (Please don't feel obliged to stick with any of the prompts, either - these are just here in case they strike your fancy. If you feel like surprising me instead, absolutely surprise me! <3)
Mission Impossible (Movies)
The Fave: Ethan. (He's a soft, tired idiot who is always completely out of his depth, of course he's my fave.)
Friendships I adore: ALL OF THEM.
Ships I like: Ethan/Luther, Ethan/Sidorov (I know Sidorov's not in the tag list, so you're absolutely not obliged to include him!)
Ships I'm chill with: Ethan/Hunley, Ethan/Brandt, Ethan/Ilsa (though I'd prefer Ethan/Ilsa to be just sexual rather than romantic)
random prompts / #thoughts:
- Hunley has a GIANT CRUSH on Ethan, developed during Rogue Nation. Tell me about it.
- Brandt finally gets to seduce the rich guy, but Ethan's in his earbud talking him through it. Brandt was expecting to be annoyed at the micromanaging, not turned on as hell. #someone help him.
- Luther is the only person Ethan trusts when he's hurt or ill; he tries to Be Strong for everyone else, but Luther's the one who gets to really take care of him when things go wrong.
- Ethan and Jane had a bonding moment over grieving for their loved ones in Ghost Protocol, and they're pretty similar in other ways too - tell me about those, and how they work together, and how they take care of each other without tripping each other's landmines.
Men in Black (Movies)
The Fave: Kay
Friendships I adore: ALSO ALL OF THEM - Kay, Jay, Zed, Frank, the Worm Guys, whatever other characters you can dream of. XD
Ships I like: Kay and his canon exes (Elizabeth and Lauranna), Jay/Laura
Miscellaneous things: I, uh, like to pretend MIB 3 doesn't exist (because they forgot Kay has emotions and is actually super expressive in 1 and 2), but ymmv! :D
random prompts / #thoughts:
- what drove Kay to want so badly to retire before and during the first film?
- Jay finds a bunch of old photos of young Kay from after a serious mission from way back when, and notices that 1. wow Kay was HOT, and 2. he looks Very Injured
- RULE 63 JAY AND KAY
- Jay and Kay and their differing attitudes to having to perform minor field medicine on each other (stitches etc)
The Fugitive (1993)
The Fave: Sam (...and Richard...but Sam, distinguished and disaster bi of my heart ♥♥♥)
Friendships I adore: ALLLL OF THEM. Sam calls his team his kids! They bicker among themselves and with him! They each have a separate equation with him and they all love each other! They're all immediately making an effort to make Richard comfortable!! I JUST. I LOVE EVERYONE IN THIS BAR.
Ships I like: Sam/Richard is my OTP to end all OTPs. Like, in life. They are my favourite.
Ships I'm chill with: Sam/Cosmo (though Cosmo is not in the tag list so no obligation to include him!)
random prompts / #thoughts:
- how do Sam and Richard differ in their thought processes re: coming to terms with being queer?
- soulmate AU? soulmate AU!
- one random night in Richard's dreams, instead of Helen, it's Sam who's hurt and dying. How does he cope?
- Sam and Richard go their separate ways at the end of the film, then meet(-cute) again when Sam's injured in some way
