Dear Writer - Consent Issues 2019

Hello, and thank you so much for writing for me! I am simplecoffee on ao3, and academicgangster on tumblr.
Of the four fandoms I'm requesting this year, one (Collateral) has a deeply kinky, mutual dubcon vibe, and for that one, I'm in it for all the kink. For the other three, I've requested pairings that have a traumatic, messed up, noncon dynamic, and I'm very much in those for the horror and trauma of the act and possible recovery afterwards.
I'm a-okay with a Mature or Explicit rating, wherever the muse takes you! I'm also pretty easy - I ramble a lot in this letter, with a lot of ideas and thoughts that generally start with the canon character dynamic and then run with it. Please feel free to mix and match any of the prompts, or even not to use any of them and just to use the list of them as a jumping-off point for however you'd like to go exploring that particular dynamic - whichever you prefer.
My general likes: hurt/comfort, touch starvation, character studies, exploration of canon character dynamics, fallout of canon trauma, anything that takes the vibe of canon and runs with it
My sexual/kinky likes: praise kink, hand kink, sensory deprivation, biting/bruising/marking, PIV, non-penetrative sex, vaginal fingering, femdom, scar worship, fever sex, heavy petting/making out, subs choking up when they should safeword, touch and touch starvation
Noncon likes: the aggressor using kinks from the likes list against the victim, knowing they like it and it makes them weak, or promising them something they like in exchange for doing something they don't want to do; pain play; impact play (without spanking); overstimulation; ignored safewords/disregarding of agreed upon limits; the aggressor's kink being a trigger for the victim; the victim tearing up and the aggressor shaming them for it; gaslighting; attempted gaslighting (ie. the aggressor attempts to gaslight the victim into liking it, the victim doesn't like it but goes along with it anyway for reasons, and possibly feels guilty for not liking it); the perpetrator at least partly believing their own gaslighting lies, or showing a lot of performative concern for the victim while the victim can tell they don't really know their preferences, know their tells that they're not enjoying it, or worse, that they do know, and don't care about them enough to stop.
Noncon aftermath and recovery likes: subdrop. character crying after the fact, even if they don't quite understand why they're crying. character falling ill after the fact, giving a sort of physical manifestation to the suffering in their soul. character keeping their trauma to themselves, but getting support from friends who can tell they're hurting (for instance, Ethan from Luther, Maverick from Iceman, Jack from perhaps another Jack or another Vika)
General DNWs: anal, rimming, ageplay, scat/watersports/emeto, mommy/daddy kink, dirty talk, gastrointestinal illness (nausea/vomiting is okay but not as a kink and not as a result of GI illness), any mention of menstruation or pregnancy, spanking, sounding, CBT

Thoughts:
God these characters are so fucked up. Vincent is a terrible person, and yet you kind of feel for him; Max is a sad bean who never asked to be caught up in any of this, and yet somehow finds it in himself to kick ass - and they both hate each other so much. And so I am here for these messed up people getting it on in the most messed up ways. I'm a-okay with it either being during the film, or after the film in a universe where Vincent doesn't die.
I'd like the power dynamic between them to be fairly balanced, and for them both to end up enjoying whatever they're doing, even if it didn't start out consensual, if they're manipulating each other in delicious dubcon territory, or if it's not necessarily safe or sane. I don't want either of them to hold disproportionate power over the other - as Max established in the second half of the film, the leash very much goes both ways.
Prompts:
- I am here for delicious, delicious mutual dubcon. Vincent doesn't know what he sees in this sad, unambitious taxi driver; Max doesn't know why he's considering getting it on with a literal contract killer. Maybe one or both of them are drugged or drunk or high, maybe Vincent's sick or injured so badly he's hallucinating and isn't sure Max is real. Maybe they use banging each other as an excuse to talk out or fuck out their various issues, like Max's with his limo company and Vincent's with his father. Vincent is definitely a masochist; maybe he's surprisingly eager to please, and Max uses that to get revenge for everything Vincent put him through in the film. Maybe he does that by hurting him, or maybe he does it by getting him to confess to (or just talk about) all the times he's been vulnerable in the past. Maybe Vincent's time in the military comes up, in a kinky context or an angsty, bitter context, or both. Maybe they walk away weirdly healed...or maybe just bleeding and ripped apart.
- One or the other of them says something about hating that they find the other attractive, and they somehow end up kissing.
- Vincent kisses Max to avoid being identified while the area they're in is being searched by cops, or someone mistakes the two of them as being in a relationship and the next thing they know they're keeping up the cover.
- Or Max grabs one of Vincent's guns but can't bring himself to shoot him, and Vincent takes advantage of Max's indecision and kisses him.
- Or Max grabs one of Vincent's guns and demands he kiss him, just to humiliate him, but it turns out Vincent's kinda getting off on it instead. And then Max realizes he's getting off on it too despite feeling terrible about getting off on it.
- Vincent pretends to be a dom, but the facade just...slowly erodes, and eventually Max dominates the fuck out of Vincent. There might be a whole lot of mutual biting and scratching.
- Max's main goal is still to utterly humiliate Vincent, so he forces Vincent to admit to past trauma / abuse he went through in foster homes / perhaps even suicide attempts
- Vincent pretends this doesn't fuck him up, but fucks Max up in return by talking about his sad dreams for his limo company and how he's lying to his mom about it all
- Max holds Vincent down, and holds a hand over his mouth when he talks too much
Fandom-Specific DNWs:
• If Vincent is the aggressor/initiator to begin with, I don't want him to threaten Max into doing anything - no violent or coercive starts like holding Max at gunpoint, for instance. I'd rather (for example) there be a situation where they need a cover so as not to be tagged by cops, and Vincent demands they kiss and Max recognizes the danger to them and goes along without fighting it. (Conversely, if Max is the aggressor/initiator, absolutely go with him threatening and/or holding Vincent at gunpoint for a kiss to start with if that's what speaks to you.)
• Death of requested characters
• physical humiliation (verbal is fine, it's practically what their dynamic is built on after all)

Accidentally triggered flashbacks, Aftermath & Recovery, Aggressor feels guilty about what they are doing to victim but does it anyway, Aggressor knows dubcon victim wouldn't consent if fully informed, Betrayal/Abuse of trust, Fever sex, Gaslighting, it's not rape if they don't say no - hand over mouth, Nausea/vomiting after xcon, No Physical Injuries, Physically Weaker Person is the Aggressor, Sex to placate perpetrator, Touch-Starved, Unwilling Arousal, Victim Doesn't Want To Hurt Aggressor, Victim forced to comfort rapist afterwards, Victim Has to Soothe or Comfort Aggressor, Victim is the Penetrator, Victim Tries To Convince Themselves It Was Consensual, Bruises, Hand Over Mouth, Non-Consensual Kissing
Thoughts:
MI 1 implies Claire slept with Ethan, but it also kind of implies he was horrified by the idea of sleeping with her. So I'm here for this being a noncon scenario where they did sleep together, because she coerced/manipulated/guilted him into it. Ethan knows she's working with Jim to frame him, but he's also known her for years as a teammate and a friend and desperately doesn't want to believe it. He tries to convince himself she's not working with Jim, tries so hard to convince himself she's just acting this way because she's grief-stricken and traumatized, tries to protect her and make sure she's comfortable while she's his responsibility on the slight chance she's innocent, even though he knows, deep down, that she isn't at all.
I'm here for the horror and trauma of the noncon, the powerlessness and inescapability of it, and for the victim not really being able to wrap their heads around what happened, blaming themselves, struggling and somehow managing to cope. I'm also here for the immediate aftermath, for the victim trying to pick up the pieces and maybe getting help from a character they love.
Prompts:
- Ethan asks Claire to stop, more than once, but she acts so distraught whenever he does, and it hurts him so much to see her seeming so driven to distraction, that it starts to feel easier in the moment to just give in to what she's asking.
- Claire is working with Jim to pull off their crime and make Ethan the fall guy, and she doesn't know that Ethan has figured her out, so she's deliberately messing with Ethan's head as much as she can. (For instance, she knows he's not into her but acts convinced that he is, acts out of her mind with grief and trauma so that he feels like any protest he makes is hurting her, rambles about the night when all their teammates were killed to deliberately trigger Ethan into flashbacks or tears.)
- Maybe Claire manages to convince herself that she really is into Ethan and really is grieving for Jim, really is distraught, etc.
- Claire makes an effort to arouse Ethan, but she doesn't really know what makes him tick romantically or sexually, so it all comes across as kind of cold and performative and clinical even when his body reacts to her, in the ways in which sex between people who just don't have any chemistry is.
- Ethan tries his best to make her feel good, even though he's not sure why he even wants her to feel good.
- Ethan dissociates during the act, and has trouble pulling himself together afterwards.
- Even after she's dead, Ethan's not sure if she really meant to violate him, or if she was coerced by Jim into coercing him.
- Maybe Jim mentions in his statement to Kittridge after his arrest that Claire 'seducing' Ethan was part of their plan, and so when Kittridge debriefs Ethan he asks him to explain himself, and Ethan has to relive the trauma and explain what happened and that he did not consent to it.
- Ethan spends a while fairly seriously ill afterwards, as sometimes happens when coping with major trauma.
Fandom-Specific DNWs:
• Ethan being at all into Claire. I see him as looking on her as a sister-in-law, trying to convince himself she's not working with Jim, trying to convince himself she's just acting this way because she's grief-stricken and traumatized, but deep down knowing the truth that she's trying to frame him all along, no matter how much he tries to deny it to himself.
• Kinks that involve implements, since Claire's chosen narrative in canon is that it's a spur-of-the-moment thing that she needs~~~ comfort sex from Ethan
• Dubcon or noncon between characters other than Claire and Ethan
• Non-canonical character death
• Ethan/Benji, Ethan/Ilsa, Ethan/Brandt
• Humilation

Thoughts:
Charlie and Mav were very cute together for some time, but there are some strange undertones beneath that perfect surface. Charlie asks Mav out on their first date to manipulate him into giving her information, and later she 'pep talks' him by calling him a coward and a quitter while he's clearly still in overwhelming shock and grief. I don't think she was necessarily intentionally hurtful toward him; I do think she's fond of him but doesn't understand him, and doesn't care for him enough to try. I also think she's a little inconsiderate of him and has a mean streak, and that Mav is really kind of a mess and is miserably in love with her and would kinda let her keep hurting him on the grounds that she didn't mean to, until she finally crossed a line. And so I think she might perhaps one day go too far in bed with Mav, not realizing she's hurting him or that he's not into it any more, or getting too carried away with her own pleasure to allow him to ask to stop.
I'm here for the horror and trauma of the noncon, especially from an intimate partner who is supposed to be worthy of trust. The powerlessness and inescapability of it even for the strongest of people, and for the victim not really being able to wrap their heads around what happened, blaming themselves, struggling and somehow managing to cope. I'm also here for the aftermath, for the victim trying to pick up the pieces and maybe recover a little bit.
Prompts:
- Mav is enthusiastically submissive and somewhat masochistic, and seeks out pain as a coping mechanism for, well, life in general, and Charlie gets off on hurting him as much as he gets off on being hurt so that's cool. He's just not good at asserting his boundaries, or really knowing where they are. Maybe if Charlie goes too far while hurting him, he chokes up when he should safeword, and she doesn't notice he's in genuine distress. Or maybe he deliberately doesn't safeword because he thinks he deserves the pain even when it's stopped being fun for him, or just believes he should be 'strong enough' to take it, and falls apart afterwards.
- Charlie is still having fun even though Mav's not, and she doesn't care enough about him to notice he's no longer okay with what's going on. Maybe she's so carried away with how much she's enjoying it that she puts a hand over his mouth to stop him from saying anything to spoil her fun.
- Mav is willing to try being humiliated, and it does turn them both on to begin with. But then Charlie starts saying things that hit closer and closer to home, like talking about Mav's issues with his parents and his guilt over Goose's death, and Mav is so blindsided by how much it hurts that he doesn't stop her, and in that state of shock lets her do whatever else she likes to him as well.
- Or, alternatively, Charlie says something about the accident in which Goose died and Mav has an actual panic attack or PTSD flashback, without her realizing it's a significant health issue that needs attention. Maybe she even shames him or calls him overly sensitive or a snowflake for not being able to handle her mentioning the incident.
- Things go too far for Mav, he's hurting or panicking or just not feeling well, and he safewords or asks to stop. Charlie takes this badly, maybe points out that he was the one to ask for the kink in the first place (or just that he enthusiastically consented to begin with), maybe gaslights him into believing she's the one who's hurt by this situation, and so he ends up having to comfort her instead of feeling like he can ask for comfort himself.
- Mav and Charlie have a fairly kinky sex life on the regular, and Mav's usually up for it. It's just that this one night he's injured or sick or just plain exhausted, and would prefer something more vanilla, or just to be held instead of having sex at all. Charlie, either accidentally or deliberately, underestimates how bad he's feeling, and guilts or goads him into their usual levels of kink. (It doesn't go well for him, maybe ending up with him much more visibly unwell than before, and with Charlie forcing sympathy on him, saying she didn't know.)
- Mav's a talker, Charlie tells him he talks too much and it hurts. He tries to be silent, it's no longer fun and he's no longer into it, the next time he talks she puts a hand over his mouth holds him down, and he almost has a panic attack / that was a trigger he didn't know he had.
Here for Mav being really into it, until he's really not, and wants to stop, and either he asks to stop and is ignored, or can't even bring himself to ask. Blames himself for not being into it/not being brave or strong enough/'man enough' to take it.
- Mav having to deal with one of these things having happened, and having to hold himself together, make the decision to leave, and gather the courage to do so.
Fandom-Specific DNWs:
• The dub/noncon to be a repeated occurrence. I think Charlie crossing that boundary once would be drastic enough, and do enough irreparable damage, for Mav to leave. (Of course, he's Mav, so he'd probably do a bunch of stupid, self-destructive things while healing from the trauma and pain.)
• Dubcon or noncon between characters other than Charlie and Mav
• Non-canonical character death

Thoughts:
Vika canonically shuts Jack up by coercing him into sex, and by demanding that he kiss her, which he is clearly at least a little, possibly very, uncomfortable with. I really do think Jack is fond of her and into her, but he's also been subject to emotional abuse from her for nearly five years, and that takes a toll.
I'm here for the horror and trauma of the noncon, especially from an intimate partner who is supposed to be worthy of trust, and especially the horror of it happening again and again.
Prompts:
- Vika is in deep denial but subconsciously aware that she and Jack aren't really in love, and it sours her deeply that he's not in love with her, despite the fact that he's always kind and affectionate toward her. So, while their relationship started out in good faith, Vika has slowly become more and more annoyed by Jack's everything (she canonically can't stand his geeking out about football, he has to hide the book he finds away from her...) and so she's also become less and less concerned with his needs in the relationship, and more and more selfish and ruthless about her own.
- Vika is a lot more kinky than Jack is, and not at all conflicted about first convincing, then coercing, and later even forcing him into things he doesn't want to do.
- He's willing at first, then slowly realizes it's always about her pleasure rather than his, and it wears him out.
- Jack often comes home exhausted or injured and not in the mood, or even in a condition, for sexy times, but Vika uses guilt or gaslighting or the silent treatment to get him to give her what she wants, even if it physically hurts him to do so.
- Vika ignores Jack's use of their safeword or asking to stop, or gaslights him into withdrawing it ("I didn't really hear you say that, did I?") or disregards limits/negotiated kinks that they had previously agreed on.
- Jack has tried to avoid her before by pretending to be ill, so she doesn't buy it when he really is ill. It does not go well.
- Vika knows what Jack genuinely likes, from early in their relationship when everything was consensual between them, and so she uses those things against him, and insists her using them makes her a good and attentive partner, a better one than he is, and that he should be grateful to her for it. (from tags & likes: praise kink, hand kink, sensory deprivation, blindfolds, dominating him)
- Jack doesn't share his thoughts with her any more, mostly because she's made it very clear that he's not welcome to, but she resents what she perceives as his aloofness anyway and derives some kind of satisfaction from breaking him sexually
- Jack is fond of Vika and often wants to make out or have sex with her, but not when she constantly guilt-trips him into it, or kisses him unexpectedly or by force. He goes along with it to placate her anyway, because she gets passive-aggressive or outright aggressive if she doesn't get her way.
- All Jack really wants is physical affection, but it's always a gamble whether or not Vika will want to give him any kind of cuddling or aftercare.
Fandom-Specific DNWs:
• Vika to have been a violent partner from the start. It seems like her favoured weapons are manipulation, coercion, gaslighting and the like, and while I can see her turning violent, I would prefer that it have got that way via constant escalation rather than her always having been physically cruel.)
• Death of Jack 49
• physical humiliation (verbal is fine)
